High School Counseling

Through the support of the High School Placement Coordinator, faculty and staff, students are guided throughout the application process with particular focus on the student’s individual strengths.
Faculty and staff guide students throughout the application process, with particular focus on the student’s individual strengths. Through the Mentoring Program, we aim to not only provide the guidance for our eighth graders to gain entry to the school of their choice, but also make the transition as seamless as possible.

Mentoring Program

MDA offers resources and counseling for eighth grade students to prepare them for applying to high school through our Mentoring Program. In partnering with the Young Professionals Committee, the Mentoring Program is designed to assist and support eighth grade students as they navigate through the high school application process and work to find the school that fits them best.

Mentors meet with mentees throughout the fall months to:
  • Assist with the high school application and essay
  • Provide HSPT preparation and strategies
  • Assist mentees in preparing for school interviews
  • Support mentees as they begin to make the transition to high school
Mission Dolores Academy, an inclusive faith-filled school community, empowers confident students who are academically prepared, leading lives motivated by integrity and committed to the common good.
