Mental Well-Being
MDA has a wellness coordinator, along with intern counselors, who are on site and available to meet with students five days a week to strengthen and care for their mental and emotional health and wellbeing.
Confidential and empathetic dialogues seek to improve personal and relationship skills between peers as well as families. MDA provides these counseling to our students at no cost. Both one-on-one and group sessions are offered, based on the student's situation. Participation in counseling takes place with parental or guardian support.
Supporting MDA's Mental Health Program is the school's Wellness Center, providing a safe and welcoming space where students can process difficult emotions and self-regulate before returning to class, receive mental health support from our wellness coordinators, and express concerns about issues that may interfere with their academic success. The Wellness Center is available to all students who are in need of social-emotional support and/or crisis intervention.
Any parent or guardian interested in enrolling their student in counseling should contact their child/ren's teacher(s).
