Uniforms

For the 2014-15 school year, unless otherwise noted in the weekly newsletter, students are expected to dress in their formal uniforms on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays and in their PE uniforms on Mondays and Thursdays.

Dennis Uniforms is Mission Dolores Academy’s exclusive uniform provider. Uniforms may be purchased at their store on 10th and Division Street in San Francisco, or ordered online at www.dennisuniform.com.

The formal uniform consists of the following:

Boys:

  • Navy polo shirt or white pinpoint shirt with MDA logo
  • Navy V-neck or cardigan sweater
  • Gray pants
  • Sturdy, oxford type shoes (not athletic shoes). Shoes must be WHITE or BLACK or any combination of WHITE AND BLACK, with no additional colors.
  • White socks (above the ankle crew)

Girls:    

  • Dunbar plaid jumper – Grades K – 3
  • Dunbar plaid skirt – Grades 4 -8 (skirts no shorter than 1 inch above the knee)
  • Uniform gray pants may also be worn
  • White blouse or Navy polo shirt with MDA logo
  • Navy cardigan sweater or V-Neck sweater with MDA logo
  • White socks (ABOVE THE ANKLE crew or knee-highs), or tights are allowed as long as they are a solid white, gray or navy.
  • Sturdy, oxford type shoes (not athletic shoes). Shoes must be WHITE or BLACK or any combination of WHITE AND BLACK, with no additional colors.
  • Knee-high boots are permitted if they are all BLACK, have rubber soles and have no buckles or tassles. No UGG style boots.

Physical Education Uniform:    

  • Navy school sweats
  • Black and/or White (leather or canvas) sneakers only
  • White, gray or black socks (above the ankle crew socks)
  • School T-shirts only (plain white T-shirts are not permitted)

Please Note:

  • Only white, gray or navy T-shirts (without writing or designs) may be worn under the shirt or blouse.
  • White turtlenecks may be worn in cold weather under the shirt or blouse.
  • School shoes should be sturdy, rubber-soled, oxford shoes – athletic shoes are not permitted except on PE days. Sandals are not permitted.
  • Sweaters or school sweatshirts are required for Mass.
  • Shirts and blouses must be tucked in at all times.
  • Parents should write the name on students' sweaters and sweatshirts. Lost articles may be found in the main office – unclaimed items are given away at the end of each quarter
