Honor Roll | Mission Dolores Academy
Honor Roll Guidelines
The Honor Roll seeks to acknowledge and honor the academic accomplishments of a student’s efforts throughout the duration of each Quarter. In an effort to better define how the Honor Roll works here at Mission Dolores Academy, we have revised the platform, and we will be implementing the Honor Roll beginning this Quarter, Quarter Two. In addition, we will now be honoring the contributions of our students who seek to daily make MDA a positive, kind, and compassionate community with Citizenship Honors, also given on a Quarterly basis. Below are the new guidelines for each category:
Students are eligible for placement on the Honor Roll, in Grades Five through Eight, at the end of each report card period. This is based upon their scholastic achievement.
To qualify for the Gold Honor Roll: A student must earn a minimum of 20 or maximum of 21 points in academics. Required 6 subjects for points: Religion, Mathematics, Language Arts, Science, History, Latin, and Art.
To qualify for the Silver Honor Roll: A student must earn a minimum of 16 or maximum of 19 points in academics. Required 6 subjects for points: Religion, Mathematics, Language Arts, Science, History, Latin, and Art.
The values of the grading system will be as follows: A = 3 points; B = 2 points; B- = 1 point. For both Honor Rolls, no D’s or F’s are allowed in any subject. Student Learning Expectations and Learning Skills must be either a 1 or 2.
Students are eligible for Citizenship Honors, in Grades Three through Eight, at the end of each report card period.
To qualify for Citizenship Honors: A student will need a 1 in Student Learning Expectations (conduct on the playground will be taken into consideration).
At the end of each Quarter, certificates for Gold, Silver, and Citizenship Honors will be sent home in the Wednesday envelope accompanying the report card.
